This painting is of a memory I have from when my friends and I took a hike up to the Castle of Las Plassas in the heart of Marmilla. The hill the castle sits on is shaped like a nipple, where Marmilla got its name. Known as the most fertile area in Sardinia, Italy, a local saying is “Saludi e Trigu,” which means “health and wheat.”
