It’s a nice change of pace for me to paint still lifes with flowers. In these paintings, I’ll cut and arrange the flowers myself in vases selected from my home. These paintings are different from landscapes in that they are more technical, meaning I need to create the composition from a set I’ve designed versus Mother Nature’s naturally designed environments. So, the Creative Director in me gets to come out and play for a little bit.
